packaging

So this is the basic guide of what i am going for, the net is called a 'pillow pack'. I went for this style of packaging as it can be made out of recycled materials and is quite contemporary. I think this sleek shape would encourage 'new' gardeners to the products as it makes gardening look modern and funky.

the outcomes so far!

Not sure about he text which id just under the 'luck' but everything else is pretty much how things will be. The luck seeds are the bells of ireland flower, love would be a red rose and fame in angels trumpet flower. I am still using the initial idea of using the meanings of the flowers just now in a modern way.

With 'luck' version i really like how the green as it makes it look organic, especially against the background plus it emphasizes the irish feel.

i can see the light!

So the dark mist that had descended over my creative mind has no started to lift and for the first time in 8 weeks i have 2 (YES 2) ideas for the fleurons brief.
The first is to find and research famous poem's and take the sections from each and simply make them look beautiful!
The second is the play on the 'metaphor' part of the brief. Each flower has a 'meaning', in the olden days people would send flowers to each other that had messages in them that could only be found if you knew what each flower meant. Quite romantic really!!

I think the second is definitely my favorite for now so i am going to research the meanings and how i could use this. So could it be a series of postcards or little cards sent with bouquets allowing the reciever to understand the meaning?!

Changed my mind....again

So i am no longer doing 'fakery' as I had the biggest creative thinking block that has ever been experienced since time began. I'm going to take a stab in the very pitch black dark and do the 'fleurons' brief.

wish me luck

Graphic typography

Don't know if these count as fakery but technically it could do(?!)
At first glance it looks like they are just normal pictures but once your closer you realize that are made up of typography. Could see what the tutors think not sure wether they will go for it but it could be worth a shot.

'Knowtoneed"

Found a fellow blogger who has found Leandro Erlich. He was born in Argentina but now lives and works  in Paris.

'On entering a Leandro Erlich installation, the viewer enters a world of trickery and illusion; doors cannot be opened, peepholes reveal the unexpected, mirrors do not reflect and viewers can submerge themselves in a swimming pool without getting wet. His installations function like puzzling set designs in which the viewer becomes the actor and Erlich the director. Erlich challenges the viewer's habitual idea of reality by creating an unexpected experience from a familiar environment.'
